We will ride for about 3 hours and then get lunch. There are some nice hills and some single track but it is mostly fire roads. This will be one of the coolest places to ride with temperatures expected to be below 80 degrees for most of the ride.
This is an "advanced beginner"/intermediate ride but not a "pure beginner" or "newbie" ride. You should be comfortable riding for 2-3 hours and doing over a thousand feet of sometimes steep climbs. We will all stay together and wait for each other. This is a fun social ride and not a competition.
We are meeting at 8:00 and will roll a little bit after 8:15.

Sunday, August 14, 2011 @ 10AM - Irvine to Balboa Pier

Park anywhere in Windrow Community Park but meet between the fire station and Boys & Girls Club, near the baseball field.
Join us for a nice and easy road ride to the beach and back. The whole ride is close to 24 miles round trip and should take us about 4 hours. We'll be doing it at a casual pace of around 8-10 MPH on the way there and back. We'll also be stopping off in Newport for some grub and suds. Any geared bike will do!
