This is a road ride which begins and ends at the Snow Summit Ski Resort in Big Bear Lake, CA. It is entirely on bike paths and streets. Overall, you do about 18.5 miles and 800′ of climbing. Except for a couple spots near the dam, you’ll hardly notice that you’re doing any climbing at all. This loop offers the best possible views of the lake and it’s best done in the spring and summer months.
Depending upon how many visitors there are in the area on any given day, traffic could be a little sketchy to navigate around. Most of these roads offer little to no shoulder for cyclists to safely ride on. Therefore I wouldn’t recommend this ride for kids or people that are afraid of driving next to cars.
