Meet up at the bottom of the San Juan trail at 10AM. From there we’ll shuttle up to Blue Jay Campground and begin our downhill adventure.
Except a short push a bike section up to Cocktail Rock, this is going to be a moderately fast paced ride with stops only at intersections and Cocktail Rock. That last 4-5 miles will be an all out race to the bottom.
Don’t worry about the footrace that’s going on in the area. The runners should be well beyond Blue Jay by the time we get there. As an extra precaution to avoid any stragglers, we’ll take the meadows route instead of Old San Juan to Cocktail Rock.
There’s a very small chance of very light rain, which is a good thing as it will make the trail more sticky.
If we’re going to make this happen, we need several vehicles. Make sure you have room in your car for at least one other person and their bike. If we can’t do a shuttle, we’ll have to ride up San Juan!
Pads are recommended. Full face helmet is optional.
A Forest Adventure Pass is required and strictly enforced. Go to Big 5 today if you don’t have one!
