If you’re new to mountain biking and have been waiting for an easy ride just to get out there and see if you like it with no pressure of holding people back or getting left behind, here’s your chance!
This is a newbie level ride that I’ve never tried before. It appears to be a combination of dirt trails, bike paths, and some street riding near the beach. Total distance to the beach and back is about 17 miles with just a few hundred feet of climbing.
We’ll have lunch somewhere in Dana Point, so bring a bike lock!
Meet at Cox Sports Park in Ladera Ranch at 9AM. After bike inspections to make sure everyone’s bike can actually do the 17 miles, we’ll head out. Remember to bring all the essential tools and parts for your bike. At a minimum: bring two tubes, a pump, and a tool for every bolt on your bike. You’ll also need 2 liters of water either in bottles on your bike, or preferably, in a hydration back pack.
