Trabuco Wash

The Trabuco Wash is a fire road that provides access to the Holy Jim area and Trabuco Trail, following the Trabuco Creek the entire way.  There is one water crossing on the way up that is usually no more than a foot deep.  During the spring, you’ll see plenty of water and sometimes people fishing alongside the road.  During the summer months, there may be no water at all but with a good amount of trees covering about half the route, it’s a good hot weather option.

This ride is a great option for beginners and also serves as an extension option for the much more difficult Trabuco to Holy Jim Loop.  Although you’ll climb the entire first half of this ride, you’ll hardly notice it on the way up.  On the way down though, that’s when the real fun begins with hardly any pedaling needed to maintain speed.

You could double the miles and scenery by entering the trail system at the Cox Sport Park in Ladera Ranch, which is the starting point of the Arroyo / Trabuco Loop.
